Fifty Bemidji ladies gathered at the home of Mrs. Matt Phibbs yes- terday afternoon for the purpose of discussing the organization of a mother’s meeting here in the city. The plan was heartily approved of and a meeting will be called at a later date, at which time the organ- ization will be completed and elec- tion of officers take place. The meetings will be held once a month and child’s psychology will be the subject taken up. A committee com- prised of Mesdames D. C. Smythe J. J. Conger and Shadegge was appointed to investigate certain matters and re- port at the next meeting. All ladies are invited to attend, and further notice will be given before the next meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Reynold’s daughter Mrs Pisdell, and family returned to her home at Fowles after spending the fourth with her parents at this Pplace. The Northern Farmer’s Club met with the Club at Eckels, near Mr. McGees in the grove to _celebrate. There weére two sack races one for the smaller and one for the larger boys; foot races for small and large; also potato races and tug-of-war. First prize was won by Northérn in’ all except the foot.race by the small- er people under ten years of age. A ball game was played which was not finished on account of the storm coming up. Mr. and-Mrs. Kimber spent the fourth in Bemidji with Mrs. Kim- ber’s sister, Mrs. Clarence Grover. Mr Blue will soon put the finishing touches-on his cottage and Mr. Per- rie will also have his home ready to occuyp soon. Mr. Reynolds makes his last trip to Bemidji with strawberries this week, having disposed of some 200 quarts. Raspberries will soon be ripe. Ben Kimber and: son started for their home at Clitherel.
