The contents of the messasge to Gov- ernor-elect Sulzer are being careful- ly guarded—another fact that is arousing interest. The contents of the message will be read by thou- sands now whereas if it had been sent/ by mail its readers’ could have : been counted by less than hundreds, A Boost for “P. J.” Cass Lake Times: “We see by the exchanges that our old friend P. J. Russell, of Bemidji, is casting long- ing eyes at the receivership of the Cass Lake Land Office. Pat has been a consistent Democrat all his days and is thoroughly posted on the bus- iness of the land office, in fact it is the writer’s opinion that he is the best posted Democrat in the state on land *office practice and if we must have a change, “Pat’s” the unanim- ‘s cheice of the temporary editor of the Times (M. N. Koll), Axel Ring- borg, the efficient register of deeds of Clearwater county is a candidate for register of the Crookston land office. He is able and a good man for the position.” Save a Little Snow. “Save a Little Snow for Mother” is the slogan of a campaign being waged in Grand Rapids this win- ter. The request has gone forth that in cleaning the snow off sidewalks a little should be left so that the sleighing will be good and no bare spots will be encountered. The idea is one which appeals to all mothers who push sleighs when going down town. They hate to find a bare spot in the sidewalk and then have to 80 out in the deep snow or use all their strength to drag the runners over the rough stone. Incidentally these spots are seldom bare long but col- lect water from melted snow and the next freezing spell turns them into small ice coated lakes. First Minnesota Conviction. Over in Mahmomen last week Judge Andrew Grindeland decided that James McIntosh has been guilty of violations of the corrupt practices act recently passed by the state leg- islature and ordered the clerk of judgment for the plaintiff—which was in effect that McIntosh lost his office. It will be filled by the county commissioners in January, The McIntosh case is the first to come before a judge since the legis- lature passed the law and there has been some talk of carrying it to the supreme court for a test. The' court found that McIntosh was a person of Indian blood, that he was engaged in the saloon business, and that both] court to enter It matters not where you reside or what you wal B33 332888 3 8 S S S 320l s * 3 : : * : WE___B.ETU’EH : : NORTHERN GROCERY : : f x X COMPANY : ¥ Today plctures made from % ¥ o % the films you send in this : : : * morning. - e 3 kX sssssssess % : Enlarging, Framing, Copyinsg. : I luisssis ps * x X GROCERS * % * HAKKERUP x % -.--........: emidif. ¥ ¥ % Third St Bemidj T % o * R RK AR KRR * KKK KKK KK KKK KKK FARIRRIRRRIRIRIRRR KKK x SR COULD READ" FACES, *“Yes, 8ir,” went.on Protessor X— to a gentleman to whom he had re- cently been introduced. “I have given Boe attention to the study of human nature, and I rarely fail to read:a | face ‘correctly. :Now, . there 1s - a ||l lady,” he continued, pointing across the room, “the iines of whose coun- tenance are as glear to me as type.. Gray hair, however handsome it may be, makes a person look old. We all know the advantages of being youns. youthful appearance makes on others, simply knowing that you are “looking fit” gives one courage to undertake and accomplish things.” So why sut- fer the handicap of looking old on ac- count of gray hairs, when a simple remedy will give your hair youthful color and beauty in a few days’ time? Most people know that common garden sage acts as a color restorer and scalp tonic as well: Our grand- mothers used a “Sage Tea” for keep- ing their hair dark, soft and luxur- iant. In Wyeth’s Sage and Sulphur Hair Remedy we-have an ideal prepa- ration of sage, combined with sul- phur and other valuable remedies for dandruff, itching scalp and thin, weak hair that is split at the ends or con- stantly coming out. A few applica- tions of this valuable remedy will bring back the'color, and in a short time it will remove every trace of dandruff and greatly improve the Get a fifty cent bottle from your treatment.
