St. Louis, Nov. 12.—Mrs. Helene H. Britton, the owner of the Cardin- als, has become such a baseball fan that she wants to be the active head of the club. As a preliminary step she has discharged Roger Bresnahan, the manager. Bresnahan has a can- tract which has three years to runm, and he objects to being fired and says he will go to law to collect his $10,000 annual salary, Mrs. Brit- ton wants him to be reasonable and accept a compromise. M. G. Young and wife came from Grand Forks last night. R. H. Muncy went to Island Lake this morning on business. Mrs. L. G. Thorson, of Minneapo- lis, was in Bemidji yesterday. 0. C and M. C. Butler came to Be- midji from Virginia Monday. R. J. Rudser, of Bagley, spent sev- eral hours in the city yesterday. G. H. Anderson came from Kosston yesterdya on a short business trip..
