Elsewhere in this issue will be found a communication Baldwin company which is an answer to the letter of from the Fitzsimmons - W. A. Cassler which was published Monday night. From the statements of this company, it appears that they are willing and able to pay cash for all produce which is brought to the local market. On the other hand, if any farmer wishes to market his own produce, the company will handle it for a fixed charge per bushel. That is as much as any company can do. Farmers who are bringing their produce to Bemidji should remember that their market today is not the one which they had five years ago. When the country was newer than it is now, not enough potatoes were raised to supply the home demand. As a consequence, the price in Be- midji had little relation to that of the outside markets. At this time, however, more is being raised than can be consumed here and that part which is shipped out will bring the outside ‘market price and no more. Farmers have complained to the editor many times that they cannot get cash for their produce in Bemid- Ji, and that such stores as buy want This may be true to a limited extent, but it is a Wwell known fact that these same men will sell direct to the re- tailers, who are the natural custom- ers of the grocers, if they can get a them to take it out in trade. few cents more for their produce. The farmer who is selling direct in a grocers’ territory has little excuse for tinding fault if that same man wants him to take his pay out in trade. Mr. Cassler recommended that ef- forts be made to have the Ryan peo- ble place a potato warehouse in Be- midji. The editor has certain knowl- edge that the farmers who dealt with the Ryans last year are not satisfied and many complain that they did not get a square deal. A concern like this is not needed nor wanted in Be- midji. One thing can be said right here. The Ryan people last spring author- ized advertisements to the effect that they would furnish farmers with seed potatoes of any variety it the farmers would bring back this fall two bushels for each one they took in the spring. Ryan gave them an option of contracting their entire yield to him at twenty-five cents a bushel. age of this offer but when the time came for Ryan to deliver the seed, the market was going up and he claimed that he could not carry out the agreements. Many farmers took advant- If the Commercial club, or any other organization, is going to take . Steps to see that a potato warehouse is built in Bemidji, the editor be- lieves that those already here should be considered first. The Fitzsim- mons-Baldwin company has & num- ber of men on the road who live in Bemidji and boost for Bemidji when- Their interests are centered here. No word of just criticism on their business methods has ever reached this desk. Their statement that they have leased land and are ready to build when conditions warrant such a step is believable. To be fair, the editor is willing to admit that there may be conditions in the situation of which he is in ignorance, but at this time he feels that the company--already here is willing and able to care for all produce that may be brought in this fall. ever it is possible. OLD TIME REMEDY DARKENS THE HAIR Gives Color, Lustre to Faded and Gray Hair—Dandruff Quickly Removed: 5 For generations Sage and Sulphur have been used for hair and scalp troubles. Almost everyone knows the value of such a combination for keeping the hair a good even color, for curing dandruff, itching scalp and falling hair, and for promoting the growth of the hair. Years ago the only way to get a hair tonic of this kind was to make it in the home, which was troublesome and not al- ways satisfactory. Nowadays, almost any up-to-date druggist can supply his patrons with a ready-to-use prod- uct, skillfully prepared in perfectly equipped laboratories. An ideal preparation of this sort is Wyeth’s Sage and Sulphur Hair Remedy, in which Sage and Sulphur | are combined with other valuable remedies for scalp troubles and thin, weak hair that is losing its color or coming out. After using this rem- edy for a few days, you will notice the color gradually coming back, your scalp will feel better, the dan- druft will soqn be gone, and in less than a month’s time there will be a wonderful difference in your hair. Don’t neglect your hair if it is full of dandruff, losing its color or com- ing out. Get a fifty cent bottle of Wyeth’s Sage and Sulphur from your druggist, and see what a few day’'s tlefltment will do for you. All drug- gists sell it, under guarantee that the money will be refunded if the remedy is not exactly as represented. the front seat of the automobile, bring- Ing the machine to a stop, good. view of Pittsburgh proper.” ron in the back seat, “that’s the only part of Tittsburgh we wish to see!” Drawing the Line. “From this point,” said the man in “you get a “I'm sure,” spoke up the prim mat- THAT STANDS THE SPEED graduate.
