Nelson returned to the city this morning from a hunting trip up the Soo line. There is not a headache in a bar- rel of Bemidji beer. Miss Julia Lehman of Crookston, who is teaching in the rural schools of Beltrami county, was the guest of Mrs. J. Warninger Saturday. Miss Mae McGregor left this morn- ing for her school near Rosby. She expects to be able to spend Saturday and Sundays with her parents in Be- midji. Miss Oma Hannah of Wilton pass- ed through Bemidji Saturday on her way to Fowlds, where she will teach this coming year. Her school begins today. Miss Sunol Warninger, who has been spending a few days at the state fair and also visiting relatives and friends in the city will return this evening. Mr. and Mrs. O. Charles Getchell, of Minneapolis, came to Bemidji Saturday night and will spend a week here visiting friends. Mr. Getchell is a hay fever vietim and is finding relief in North- ern Minnesota. Mrs. A. P. Henrionnet, the Misses Forest and Lyons, Joe Anderson and Harold Dane motored to the Wilcox farm near Fowlds yesterday. Roland Henrionnet is spending a few days on the farm with his uncle. Mrs. J. A bulletin received from the Uni- versity of Minnesota announces that the College of Engineering will this year offer the freshman courses in architecture and architectural engi- neering in addition to the regular courses of civil, electrical and me- chanical engineering. The architec- tural courses were offered three years ago, but upon the death of Prof. John Trott the courses were discontinued. The College of Engi- neering is housed in new buildings this year. Some time ago the school board of Liberty township decided to install heating plants, and in other ways equip the schools to comply with the law and so become entitled to state aid. A few members did not favor these improvements and asked to have a special meeting to vote it down. Last Saturday the special meeting was held and the vote re- corded was very strong in favor of the action taken by the board and the improvement will go in as originally planned.
