Motion seconded - by commissioner Rako and on the question being put by the chairman then presiding was carried by a unanimous vote. The following resolution was of- fered by commisioner Clementson who moved its adoption; Whereas, a petition has been pre- sented to the board of county com- missioners, signed by the legal number of owners of lan s affected, and pray- ing for the establishment of a State Rural Highway, beginning at a point on the town line, between sections 4, Town of Bemidji (146-33), and 33, Town of Northern (147-32) and run- ning north around Lake Bemidji, through the Town of Northern, (147- 33) in Secs. 33-28-21-16-15-14-24-25 and 36, thence through section 2, Town of Bemidji, (146-33) to a point in lot 6 in section 2 south of the Mississipppi River, and there connecting with the County Road running from Turtle River to Bemidji,; and, Whereas, said petition is accompanied by the necessary engineer’s plat of sur- vey and estimate of cost, and the peti- tioners have filed a bond with the au- ditor to cover the preliminary expense of such road, now, Be it resolved, that said petition, with the plat and estimate of cost and bond of the petitioners, be approved, and the same is hereby recommended to the State Highway Commission for their ap- proval. Motion seconded by Commissioner Rako and on the question being put by the Chairman then presiding was -car- ried by a unanimous vote. Petition of A. Hendrickson, et al, for the establishment of a county road be- ginning at the northeast corner of Sec. 31-151-31, and ending at the northwest corner of Sec. 31-151-32, and on motion of Rako, seconded by Clementson hear- ing for same was set for November 7th, at 2 p. m. Carried. Rako and Peterson were appointed a committee to examine proposed road in towns 151-31 and 151-32, on motion of Fellows, seconded by Myhre, said com- mittee to meet at the proposed termina- tion of road at 9 a. m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31, Carried. Petition of Frank Lyon et al for es- tablishment of a county road in the towns of 154-30 and 165-30 was read, and on motion of Clementson, seconded by Fellows, was ordered laid upon the ta- ble. Carried. Petition of Andrew Johnson et al to be set off from School District No. 93 to School District No. 77 was read and on motion of Myhre, seconded by Rako, hearing was set for Nov. 7th at 4 p. m. Carried. Moved by Myhre, seconded by Fellows that the supervisor of assessments be instructed to make an estimate on the SW., NE., SE, NE, NW., SE., and Lot 2 of Sec. 17-151-31, town of Cormant. The following resolution was offered by Commissioner Rako and moved for adoption: Whereas, by error, joint School Dis- trict No. 95 of Roseau and Beltrami counties, was improperly organized in this county on March 4th, 1910, and at a meeting of this Board on August 8th, 1911, the organization of said District was properly completed, and order of establishment issued, and, Whereas, said district acting in good faith, held school during the yvear 1910, be it, Resolved, that the auditor of Bel- trami county is hereby directed to turn over all school taxes collected in the year 1910 from all territory comprised in said district. Seconded by Myhre, and carried. The report of the county surveyor on that part of State Road No. 17 under contract to Prosper Albu w on motion of Myhre, seconded by Rako, was adopted and auditor instructed to issue warrant for $306.37 to Prosper Albu-as partial payment on said con- tract. Carried. The report of county surveyor on that part of State Road No. 4, now under contract to Wm. Simon, was read and on motion of Fellows, seconded by Ra- ko, was adopted, and auditor instructed to issue warrant for $282.00 in full set- tlement of said contract. Carried. The report of county surveyor on that part of State Road No. 9, now under con- tract to John Kilgren was read, and on motion of Clementson, seconded by Fel- lows, was adopted, and auditor instruct- ed to issue warrant for $192.00 in full payment of said contract. Carried. The report of county surveyor on that part of State Road No. 1, now under contract to James R. Miller, was read, and on motion of Clementson, seconded by Myhre, was adopted, and auditor in- structed to issue warrant for $1810.45 In full payment of said contract. Car- ried. A proposition from Harvey Cottain, contractor on State Road No. 6, was read, suggesting the use of brush in place of corduroy, and the digging of a ditch on each side of road, dirt taken from ditches to be placed in center of road, and the additional cost of ditches to be $15.00 per hundred feet of road. The proposition being approved by Com- missioner Clementson overseer of the road, it was moved by Myhre and sec- onded by Rako, that the contract of Harvey Cottain on State Road No.'6 be charged accordingly. Carried. A Trequest from Bosworth & Bour- geois, contractors on judicial ditches Nos. 8 and 4, asking for extension of time on contract, on motion duly sec- onded and carried, was laid on the ta- ble. The following applications for abate- ment of taxes were recommended to the state tax commission: ~Elizabeth Wolfe, A. M. Crowell. Moved, seconded and carried to ad- journ to 8 a. m. Oct. 4th. Board reconvened at 8 a.'m., Oct. 4th. All members present. The report of A. P. Ritchie, super- intendent of state fair exhibits was read, and on motion of Fellows, second- ed by Rako, was accepted and ordered filed. Carried, Moved by Rako, seconded by Myhre trat a fund be created, to be called the state fair exhibit fund, and that the bal- ance remaining unexpended from the appropriation of July 13, 1911, be placed to_the credit of said fund. Carried. Moved, seconded and carrieq, that A. P. Ritchie be appointed superntendent Of the state fair exhibit for the year 12. Moved by Rako, seconded by Clement- son, that the auditor be instructed to advertise for bids for cordwood for the use of the court house and jail. 200 cords, four foot birch, maplé or oak. To be body wood, green cut, sound and seasoned. " Bids will be considered for car lots and upward to be delivered in court house yard. Bids to be opened Nov. 7, 4 p. m. Carried. The following resolution was oftered and moved for adoption by Commis- sioner Myhre: Whereas, the engineer of Individual Ditch No. 11 has rendered his final cer- tificate on the completion of the con- tract of the Continental Bridge Co. for the construction of the 30-foot bridge near Grygla on Judicial Ditch No. 11, and whereas, said_certificate awards said Continental Bridge Co. $948.19 as Beltrami county’s share of said final payment; therefore be it re- solved that said final certificate be ac. cepted and filed, and the county auditor be instructed to warrant for $948.19 in full settlement thereof, to be paid only on the filing of a properly itemized and verified claim by the said Continental Bridge Co. Sec- onded by Clementson, and carried. The following resolution was oftered and moved for adoption by Commission- er Rako: Whereas, the engincer of Judicial Ditch No. 11, has rendered his final cer- tificate on the completion of the con- tract of the Duluth Corrugating & Roof- ing Co. for the furnishing of culvert material, and whereas -said certificate awards the said Duluth Corrugating & oofing Co. $739.44 as Beltrami county’s hare of said final payment, therefore be it resolved, that said final certificate be accepted and filed, and the county auditor be instructed to issue commis- sloner's warrant for $739.44 in full set- tlement thereof, to be paid only on” the filing of a properly itemized and veri- fied claim by the said Duluth Corrugat- ing & Roofing Co. Seconded by Fellows and carried. - The following resolution was offered and moved for adoption by Commission- er Rako: Whereas the engineér of Judicial Ditch No. 11, has rendered his final cer- tificate on the completion of the con- tract of the Continental Bridge Co. for a 60-foot steel highway bridge across said ditch No. 11, near its confluence with Thief River, and whereas said cer- tificate awards said Continental Bridge Co. $42.02 as Beltrami county’s share of, said final payment; therefore be it re- solved, that said final certificate be ac- cepted and filed, and the county auditor. be instructed to issue commissioners warrant for $42.02 in full settlement thereof, to be paid only on the filing. of a_properly. itemized ard verified claim by the said Continental Bridge Co.
