MINNESOTA TO BE LEFT OFF FOLK'S ITINERARY Was Snubbed at Recent Democratic Convention, So Does Not Care to Speak Here. St. Paul, Aug. 10—(Special to the Pioneer)—Because the democratic state convention which was held in Minneapolis on July 28 snubbed Governor Folk, that worthy foe of the boodlers probably will not come to Minnesota this fall—even if the democrats finally find someone to run for governor—as he had intended to do. Governor Folk’s reception at the democratic convention has never been fully told. He was in Minne- apolis at the time and was invited by some of the leaders to speak. He told them he would be glad and that he might even come back this fall and deliver a few campaign talks. The news that Governor Folk was to address the convention was announced by Chairman Dailey at the afternoon session at the time the convention was a scene of wild confusion over the effortsuf a few to stop the Lind stampede. Chairmam Dailey hoped to restore order by announcing the presence of one of the men who looms as the party’s hope in the next presi- dential campaign. ""Governor Folk will speak to you,” he said, “He has but a short time in which to talk. I hope you will be quiet long enough to hear him.” This was greeted with sterms of *“No, no, no,” from all parts of the hall, and all that the chairman could do to restore order was useless. It was late in the aftercoon before the former governor of Misssuri was per- mitted to speak, not until his name had been drowned repeatedly in antagonistic demonstrations which included sneers and jeers. Now word reaches St. Paul that Governor Folk probably will change his plans so as to omit Minnesota when he does his speaking this fall UNGLE SAM WANTS MEN.
