In his prospectus the baron claims con- fidently that the super-Atlantic jour- ney is possible in seventy-two hours, even against a head wind of fifty-five ‘miles an hour. The first airship 'of the line is to be 1,000 feet long and 54 feet beam. The envelope, to be constructed of a spe- cial -alloy, will carry 35,000,000 cubic feet of gas. GRADE FRAUDS ARE ALLEGED Canadian Elevator Commissioner Seals Grain Bins.. - ‘Winnipeg, June 20.—There is a sen- sation in elevator circles at Fort Will- fam and Port Arthur in consequence of the action of Elevator Commission-| er Castle in sealing up the bins of sev- eral terminal elevators where the manipulation of grades has been car- ried on, it is alleged, on gigantic scale and it is believed millions of dollars have been realized by men who have magde a study of the manipulation and have been in a position to work the game In spite of government inspec- tion. The commissioner is not leaving the matter to the supervision of any under officials, but has enteted upon close personal inspection. Just what dis- coveries will be made on examination of the bins and books it is hard to say. The outcome of the inguiry will possibly result in the Dominion gov- ernment taking over the elevators. ‘At present Americans are very largely interested.
