Sero of Ashland, Wis., who assists Special Agent Johnson of the United States Indian department to look after the government’s wards in this part of the country, arrived in Bemidji from the vicinity of Thief River Falls, where he spent a few days investigating the actions of ‘the saloon men in regard to the depart- ment’s order prohibiting the sale of liquor to the Indians. Mr. Sero found no violations in the neighbor- hood of Thief River Falls. He stayed in Bemidji over Sunday. George Lydick, the merchant- contractor of Cass Lake, who looks after considerable work for the new *'So0” railway, came over from the “Lake” Saturday afternoon and spent several hours on business in Bemidji, returning home on the night train.
