THE TIME FOR GATHERING VOTES IS GROWING SHORT The Offer that Is Made This Week, of Double Votes from Now On Until 10:30 p. m. Saturday, Is Positively the Best that Will Be Made. The Leaders Today. Jennie Sater, Bagley Ruth Wightman Bertha Benson... Besse Cochran .. Mrs. Leet Mrs. J. M. Freeburg Reflect a and think—there are only four days left moment—stop before the contest ends. Note your standing and see if you are a few thousand votes behind in your dis- trict. If so do not give up in despair but gird on your armor for those few thousand votes can be easily procured in a very short time if you go about the proposition 1n the right way. It is certainly the best chance that you will have dur- ing the remainder of the contest to catch up with any contestant who is now just ahead of you. On every subscription you turn in from now till 10:30 Saturday night you will receive just twice the number of votes the regular schedule entitles you to. The regular schedule for a one year subscription gives you 4,000 votes. This week it counts just twice as much or 8,000 votes. A two year’s subscription 20,000 votes; a five year subscription, 60,000. Just stop and think of it! Three five year subscriptions would give you 180,000 votes this week which would place your name at the head of the list with a reserve | of 22,000 to vote on the last day of the contest. Just think of how many more votes the larger subscriptions count! Secure a few of them and turn them in while you can secure double votes instead of single. Think of how much better it will be for you to turn in your subscriptions before 10:30 tomorrow night and secure double votes on them than it would be to hold them a few days too long and only get regular votes on them. Remember Persistence wins! Be a little persistant when trying to secure the hard subscriptions, then you will get them. Get out among your friends and make the results of your work count. In other words, make your time fairly hum to the tune of subscriptions and votes. Make a noise like a live wire. Show your friends you are in real TWO INDIANS ARRESTED WRECKED REDBY STORE? Frank Kling and Wife Are Charged With Dynamiting Carters’ Store Last Week. Frank Kling, an Indian who served 90 days in the Beltrami county jail for introducing liquor on the Red Lake Indian reservation last winter, was arrested by Sheriff Hazen at Redby today on a charge of dynamiting the store of D. W. Carter & Son of Redby a week ago. Kling’s wife was arrested as an accomplice and both were brought to the county jail in this city. The front of Carter's store at Redby was entirely destroyed and a large quantity of glass and china- ware was broken last week when a stick of dynamite was thrown against the door about 11:30 p. m. F." A. Carter and family were sleeping in the second story of the building but no one was injured. It was thought at the time that the dynamite had been thrown by someone living in the vicinity of of Redby. The suspicious actions of Kling caused his arrest and that of his wife today. He was arraigned before M. G. Slocum, court com- missioner, late this afternoon. nnd ...158,756 ...149,275 ...127,957 .120,696 ..102,162 98,227 earnest. The standings of the contestants these three days will remain the same until Thursday night’s paper when the judges final awards to the winners of the contest and their standings will be published. If you want to raise your standing in the paper tomorrow is your last oppor- tunity to do so. Do Not Forget This. Do not forget that double votes end Saturday night, at 10:30 p. m. and the regular vote schedule will be in force then till the close of the contest. No more special offers; no more special prizes; no more double votes. The regular schedule will be in force without change Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday .-of 'next week. Bear this in mind it is our final warning get in your subscrip- tions before 10:30 tomorrow night,, [Continued on Page 3.] BEMIDJI, MINNESOTA, FRIDAY EVENING, APRIL 22, 1910. A union depot for the “Soo” and Minnesota & International railways will be erected in Bemidji. The two roads have combined for the construction of a modern brick depot which will cost between $15,000 and $20,000. This action will fill a long felt need for better depot accommodations in Bemidji. The Great Northern and the Minneapolis, Red Lake & Manitoba railways are not expected to join with the other two roads in the erection of this depot. It is asserted on high authority that the Great Northern has made no over- tures to the “Soo,” and neither the “Soo” nor the M. & I have made any advances towards persuading the Great Northern to combine with them. The new depot will be erected west of the Northern Grocery com- pany’s wholesale house, either just west or just east of Beltrami avenue on Second street. SeVeral tracks, including house, industrial, and business tracks, will be laid into the new depot. The “Soo” railroad Judges Moving Around. Judge W. C.
