They have got to stay where they are, be- cause they cannot afford it. So far as the Norwegians in this country are concerned this sad feature of it has been remedied to The Grand Lodge of the Sons of Norway established a lecture bureau 4 years ago for the purpose of securing the services of some extent. one of Norway’s foremost men in literature, art and science to make a tour of this country and deliver lectures or give concerts in all cities where the Norwegian popula- tion would be large enough to get up an audience, thereby bringing a small part of Norway over to us. Last year Captain Angell of the Norwegian Artillery was the man selected. He delivered lectures on the poli tical situation in 1905-1907 and made a great success of it. In spite of great efforts it was impossible to get him to Bemidji. The man chosen for this season is Hr. Axel Maurer of Kristiana, the capital city of Norway, a man who has won for himself a name as a man of litera- ture. Through anearnest effort made’ by the local lodge of the Sons of Norway Hr. Axel Maurer has been booked for Bemidji at the City Opera House on Saturday evening April 16th, at 8:30 in the evening. THE CAUSE OF GOLDS Good Advice Regarding the Prevention 0f Coughs and Colds. Healthy mucous membranes are essential safeguards of the body’s general health, An excellent aid in the prevention of coughs, colds, pneumonia, and such like infectious diseases, is a remedy that will prevent or cure catarrh, We have a remedy which we honestly believe to be unsurpassed in excellence for the prevention of coughs, colds and all catarrhal con- ditions. It is the prescription of a famous physician, who has an en- viable reputation of thirty years of cures gained through the use of this formula. We promise to make no charge for the medicine should it fail to do as we claim. We urge every- body who has need of such a medicine to try Rexall Mucu-Tone. It stands to reason that we could not afford to make such statements and give our own personal guarantee to this remedy if we were not pre- pared to prove the reasonableness of our claim in every particular, and we see no reason why any one should hesitate to accept our offer and try it. We have two sizes of Rexall Mucu-Tone, prices 50 cents and $1.00. Sometimes a 50-cent bottle is sufficent to give marked relief. As a general thing the most chronic case is relieved with an average of three large bottles. You‘an obtain notice. only . now . . . ; now ... . . Venice, April 15—Mr. Roosevelt was rowed through a stretch of the Canal Grande in the darkness of the early morning and declared the ex- perience to be more impressive than a sight of Venice moonlight. The former president was accom- panied from Porto Maurizio by Ker- mit Roosevelt, Lawrence Abbott, two secretaries and several American newspaper men. He was met at the rallway station by American Consul James V. Long and Commander An- drew T. Long, American naval at- tache at Rome and Vienna. The party entered hooded gondolas, which threaded their way swiftly through the narrow canals to the hotel, where apartments had been reserved. The reflection of the street lights in the inky waters, the gloomy facades of beautiful places rising on either side and the quiet of the hour, broken only by the melancholy cries of the gon- doliers as corners were approached, ‘were commented upon by Mr. Roose- velt and his son,.both of whom en- joyed the trip immensely. Reaching the hotel the Roosevelts 1 retired at once, but were up again at 8 o’clock and, after breakfast, started out on a sightseeing tour. They vis- ited St. Mark’s cathedral, a monument of the ancient magnificence of Ven- ice; the palace of the Doges, several museums, the bridge of sighs and Ver- rochio’s statue of Bartolome Colleoni.
