Bailey, F. M. Pendergast, justice of the peace in Grant Valley township, is acting as municipal judge for the city of Bemid ji, Mayor Parker having appointed Mr. Pen- dergast to act temporarily. T. W. Mackey, the pioneer farmer and sheep raiser of Farris, was a business visitor in Bemidji yester- day. Mr. Mackey owns a lath mill at Farris and also deals quite extensively in timber, being quite a prominent figure in his home com- munity. G. E. Kreatz, the contractor, left last night for Chisholm, where he will remain for several days.
