Advertising—persisted in—is akin to the constant dropping of water inits effect; the wearing away of the rock of Doubt. You editors who have been pub- lishing papers during the - past two months and have kept mum through- out all the noise made about you, regarding the convention at Bemidji the 17th and 18th of February, ought to wake up. You, who haven’t said ‘“boo” about it should at least tell your read- ers thatthe convention is over with. It won’t do any harm, either, to tell them what was dooe at' this meet- _ing. The work for the newspaper man in northern Minnesota regarding the boosting for reapportionment has just begun and it isn’t too late for you quiet fellows to commence t tell your readers about -reappor. tionment -and keep telling them un- til it bappens. If you haven’t time or can’t think of anything to write, take your shears and clip some good : live stuff from the brothers’ papers, so that your readers might know what they are justly entitled to know. Its the working-together that counts and you are just as import- ant to complete the circle, as are those who have started the noise. Let your columns throw out the light that will brigbten the _future for northern Minnesota. A SINCERE BOOST FOR KA!SER. Crookston Daily Times: The Bagley banker is the favorite son of Northern Minnesota, and by long odds the strongest candidate for the republican nomination as state treas- urer. He would be a tower of strength to the state ticket.and ‘has a very strong following in the south. ern part of the state. He is not only the logical candi- date, but is deserving of recognition as a life long -republican, -who worked in the ranks and was never a candidate for office. It was his friends who brought him ,out as.a candidate for state treasurer and it is his friends throughout the state whoare doing the consistent :and effective work in his behalf. As yet he has been but a passive candidate. {Ing indictments against him he was a {free man, the statute of limitation hav- like' the oft repeated fish story, is increasingly attractive to the per- . I saw an editorial the other day where newspaper advertising began in 1652—but it is certain that some business houses haven’t yet begun. —— { GRAND JURY-FAILS'TO INDICT, Men Who Robbed Chicago Sub-Treas ury Free.
