Hanson of Berthold, N.D., who has been visiting at the home of Mrs. Earl Geil in this city, went to Solway yesterday afternoon for a short visit with relatives at that place. The Ladies of the Methodist church will serve a hot dinner at their stand opposite the Roller Skating Rink Thursday and Friday, June 18 and 19. Lunch will also be served in the evening. Everybody appoint himself or herself a committee of one to assist in the general movem ent for clean ing up. Present a neat front to the visitors who will be here next week; the effect will be of more value to the city than you may imagine. H. S. Kalwitter rejoices over the arrival at his house of a son, which was born to Mrs. Klawitter last Saturday evening. Mother and son are doing well. Mr. Klawitter smiles, despite the fact that he is close to the caskets at Ibertson’s undertaking rooms. A. A. Reid of Grand Rapids, arrived in the city last evening from Pequot, where he went several days ago, in company with Mrs. Reid, to visit at the home of the latter’s parents.. Mr. Reid returned to Grand Rapids on last night’s train. Mrs. Reid remained at Pequot for a fortnight’s visit. Charles S. Carter came down from his home at Hines last evening and attended the meeting of the Elks’ reception committee, which was held last evening. Mr. Carter is an en- thusiastic Elk, and he will do all in his power to see to it that the visiting delegations get all that is coming to them—and then some. J. 1. Phillippi, of Eugene, Oregon, who has been the guest of his brother, J. M. Phillippi, for the past two weeks, left this afternoon for his home in the west. Mr. Phillippi is well pleased with Bemidji and the surrounding country and speaks in the highest praise of the progressive- ness found in our city. o A. B.
