LETTER SENT TO DELEGATES Manager Lynch Declares He Believes in Political Fldelity, but Occasions Arise When Instructions Ought to Be Overlooked. Chicago, June 11.—“Bobbie” Burke's “pure Democracy” train, which is to oarry unadulterated Bryan delegates and “booSters” to the Denver conven- tion, is to be rivalled by the Chicago Johnson hoomers. It was announced at the Johnson headquarters that the Minnesota governor’s boom had grown to such proportions in Chicago that the leaders were planning to take a trainload of “boosters” to the conven- tion. The Johnson boom in Chicago, they assert, has now some 3,000 names en- rolled and many of these men, it is sald, have signified their desire to gc to the conveation. Thelr work al Denver will be among delegates, many of whom, while instructed, may be ‘won over for Johnson, providing Bry- an i3 not named on the first ballot. Along the same line letters are be ing sent out from the Johnson head- quarters to, the instructed delegates. They are signed by Manager Fred: erick B. Lynch, who declares that, while he belfeves in Political Fidelity and Loyalty and would not ask a delegate to dis- obey his instructions, still occasions arise when a delegate might act dif- ferently and in perfect good faith. The facts given are to the effect that Governor Johnson can put his own state in the Democraiic column; that he can carry every normally Democratic state as certainly as any other possible nominee, and that he certainly can carry more doubtful states; that there is every indication that he hac a tetfer chance of carry- ivity ¢f the liver will often produce most all agree that an active liver C1585trous results.
