Johnson of Turtle River re- turned from Duluth yesterday, where he had been to prove up on a valu- able stone and timber claim. He was accompanied by his two sons, Arthur and Ruben. F. J. Kline, who is in charge of the extensive logging and railroad operations of the Red River Lum- ber company, is in the city today. He stated that the company have all their drives in, and their railroad work from LaPorte to Lake George is progressing nicely. Guy Knott returned yesterday afternoon to Grand Forks, N. D., where he holds a good position with the Evening Press. He recently returned from New York city where he has spent the past month getting the newest and latest methods on the running of a linotype machine. Among others from out of the city in attendance at the state land sale today is E. R. Farley of Minneafiolis who has spent the past week in this section looking up some tracts on which he was a bidder.
