He conducted Episcopal services in the Norwegian Lutheran church, which were well at- tended. The “ditcher” on the M. & I. railway will be started today,and it is expected the roadbed will be greatly benefitted by the work- ings of the new machine along the line. A. H. Klevin, the real estate dealer, lefs last evening for Blackduck. He will look over some land in that vicinity before returning to Semidji, with a view to investment. A. E. Swmith, the Puposky banker and real estate dealer, is! in the city. He will remain until tomorrow, looking after some business matters in this city, in which he is still interested. S. R. Moorhead returned to Turtle River last evening. Mr. Moorhead has sold the remnants of the plant with which he used to print the Turie River Inde- vendent to the Daily Pioneer, Leroy Welty, traveling repre- sentaiive for the- McClelland Paper company of Minneapolis, was in the city today and se- cured a large order for paper and stationery from the Pioneer. B. G. Bishop left this morning | for Cross Lake, where he has ac- cepted the position of book- lreeper for the Northland P.ne company, which concern has ex- tensive logging operations at that place. E. D. Beeson, who represents the Naugle Pole & Tie company of Chicago, left last evening to visit points along the line of the M. & I, railway. Mr. Beeson will look after his company’s business at Northome, Kelliher and Mizpah before returning. M.
