The meeting was largely at- tended and was fraught with much interest to the holders of cedar in this north country. Mr. Beeson left last evening for Northome, where a large quantity of poles are Leing gotten out for his compary. Logging on Extensive Scale. T. J. Nary, northwestern re- presentative for the Pillsbury company of Minneapolis, is in the city, having come in yester- day afternoon from a visit to the camps of the Itasca Logging company, north of Deer River, in the Bowstring and Big Fork countries, where a large amount of pine is being ‘cut for the Pills- bury company this winter. The Itasca company expects to log between twenty-five and thirty million = feet, before the spring break-up. The pine is located in Townships 60 26, 60- 57, 59-27, 145.55, 159-25, 149-26, and is tributary to the Rice river. The timber will be cut and put into the small lakes and in the spring will be hoisted into the trains of the Itasca Logging company and hauled to> Deer River.
