The M. & I. passenger going north last evening carried one of the largest crowds that has ever passed through the city on a regular train on that road. Superintendent Strachan stated that there were 205 passengers on the train, which did not in- clude the train, engine and bag- gage crews. Mrs, C. W. Hastings of Minne- apolis, wife of the late C. W. Hastings, was in the city yester- day from her home in Minne- apolis. Mr. Hastings was presi- dent of the First National Bank of Bemidji at the time of his death, last fall, and was very well known here. Mrs. Hastings has visited Bemidji but few times, in recent years.
