The stock turned out to be in the American Real Estate company of Minneapolis, the chief assets of which concern are said to consist of Moore, a clerk and a stemographer, with nocom- mercial rating to speak of. A complaint was made against each of the three men, and Sheriff Bailey was given war- rants for their arrest, late last Friday night,. After meeting at the home of J. J. Doran, they went in a body to the Hazen residence and took possession of the place. They had with them a liberal supply of good things to eat, and a large reclining chair, which the friends bad bought as a token of friend- ship and congratulation to Mr. and Mrs. Hazen on the 35th anniveraary] of jtheir wedding. Mr. Hazen was not at home, but a scouting party soon bai bim in “tow” and.brought him t the house, where he was rendered speechless by the demonstration of the friends gatliered at his bhome. The chair was presented to Mr. Hazen by J. Bisiar and “Al.” was simply dumbfounded; but he looked his pleasure. The evening was passed with card playing, vocal and instrumental music, much of the entertain- ment being afforded by a phono- graph furnished by E. L. Naylor. At a late hour, an excellent supper wasserved. The occasion was a most enjoyable one. Rev. White Surprised. The members of the congrega- tion of the Presbyferian church and personal friends of Rev. S. E. P. White yesterday presented him with a purse containing $50 in-gold; as a Christmas gift. /777" Do Birds Sympathizet ! Anlmals experience grief over the Courtship In Baltimore. Observations extending over forty - years convince us that in Baltimore most courtships are begun about the middle of October, when the evenings grow chilly and sitting in the par- lor becomes comfortable. Just before Christmas there are often halts, due principally to a certain reluctance cost- ly to venders of Christmas gifts. But. after the holiday season there Is com- monly a rapprochement, and along toward Jan. 30 there arrives the pe- riod of preliminary and-tentative os- culation. The middle of February sees Clarence advance to the strangle hold, and by mid-March Angeline is giggling with her prospective bridesmaids over the detalls of her trousseau. April and May are spent by Clarence with the the party that wrote the piece. I think it is a little premature to canvass those things just now, but when the time comes you may say to my constituents that your uncle T. J. will be on hand a real live candidate.
