W. E. Dampier, an attorney of St. Paul and brother of E. L, Dampier, the county attorney of Hubbard county, passed through the city this morning, on his way home from Northome, where he had been to adjust some real estate matters. G. E. Kreatz, the contractor, left this morning for Walker. He has a crew of men at work on the Cass county courthouse at Walker, which has been in an un- finished state for two years. Mr. Kreatz expects that the building will be entirely finished within a fortnight. J. M. Reid of Sauk Center was in Bemidji today looking after a few business affairs. Mr. Reid has just returned from a trip to North Dakota, and is on his way home. Having land interests in the northern part of Beltrami county, he declded to stop off in the county seat for a day er two Dr. G. A. McLean, the tie man, left this morning for Gemmell, where a large quantity of ties are being gotten out for his company, Martin Bros. of Duluth., He. took with him eight men to as. sist in the work of getting out the ties. Miss Donna Lycan left last night, by way of Crookston, for Minneapolis, to resume her studies at the University of Mir- nesota., Miss Donna spent the Thanksgiving vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.
