The Minnesota state fair is getting to be a big institution, just how big those who have. not been fortunate enough to attend it recently, and some of those who have, do not realize until they see figures of attendance and receipts in type. This year nearly 800,000 people saw the fair, and the cash receipts were $200,000. This is the high record, and beats last year by 22,600 in at- tendance, and $7,106 in receipts. The difference would undoubt- edly have been far greater but for the hot spall which detracted from the attendance the closing days, and but for the G. A. R encampment, which drew a large share of the country crowds to the cities a couple of weeks agr, where they usually wait for the fair week rates. The fair is growing into, if it has not already attained, national prominence, and the people of the state should and do take a deep interest and pride in its success.
