Deafness Cannot Be Cured by local applications, as they cannot reach the diseased por- tion of the ear. There is only one way to cure deafness, and that is by constitutional reme- dies. Deafness is caused by an inflamed condition of the mucous lining of the Eustachian tube. When this tube is inflamed you havea rumbling sound or imper- fect hearing, and when it is en- tirely closed, deafness is the re- sult, and unless the inflamation can be taken out and this tube re- stored to its normal condition, hearing will be destroyed for- ever; nine cases out of ten are caused by catarrh, which is noth- ing but an inflamed condition of the mucous surfaces, We will give One Hundred Dollars for any case of deafness (caused by catarrh) that cannot be cured by Hall’s Catarrh Cure. " The Great McEwen again demonstrated his right to the title last night, performances he has given ex- hibitions of magic and hypno- tism, and last night he added several experiments in telepathy Telepathy with him is' mind reading. For instance, he allow ed a pin to be hid in any part of the room, and then taking hold hid it, rushed without hesitation to the hidden pin, This was the simplest one of his experiments, the others being far harder and more complicated. McEwen also did his great feat of suspending a woman in mid-air with noapparent means of support, raising and lowering her at command. This is per- haps the most mystifying of all bis exhibitions, and as he uses no black background or dazling lights, it is really a greater trick, as performed b; him, than as once performed by the Greut Herman and now by Keller. The Great McEwen will give' one more performance at the opera house tonight, anda com- plete change of program has beem announced.
