In another column will be found the story of Bemidji’s growth in the last year. The census which has just been com- vleted shows the city with an actual population of 5,191, a gain of 1,391 since the taking of the 1905 state census. This is a growth which should be a source of great satisfaction to the public spirited men who have been claiming a population of 5,000 and over for the city, and have had the faith in the future of the community to in- vest their money in business en- terprises and real estate here, We who live here know, and the people all over the state should be made to know that there is no better little city in Minnesota than Bemidji. Itis a good place to invest capital; in land, in houses, in factories, and The Commercial Club. The movement on-foot to re-or- ganize and put new life into the Commercial club should meet with the hearty support of all having the welfare of the city at heart. There can be no question that an active, progressive Commer- cial club is needed. Bemidji is growing and growing fast, as the census, just completed, shows, and this is an urgent reason for it. There are two conditions in a city’s life when such a club is necessary; when it is not grow- ing and when it is growing. When a city is staading still a club i3 needed to instil new life into it; when it is expanding it is needed to guide, direct and aid the development. The *Golden Medical Discovery” is just the tisue builder and tonic you require when recovering from a hard cold, grip, pneumonia or a long siege of fever or other prostrating disease. No matter how strong the constitution, our stomach and liver are apt to be “out of kilter” occasionally. In con- sequence our blood is disordered, for the stomach is the laboratory for the constant manufacture of blood. It is a trite saying that no man is stronger than his stomach. Dr. Pierce’s Golden Medical Discovery strengthens the stomach—puts it in shape to make ure, rich blood—helps the liver and idneye to expel the poisons from the body and thus cures both liver and kidney “troubles.
