Russian Troops Returning From War Ready to Mutiny. Odessa, June 1° —Since the com mencement of the repatriation of the troops which took part.in the war with Japan 152,000 men, including the Russian prisoners from Japan, have been landed here and distributed throughout the interior of the coun- try. The most stringent precautions were observed during the whole pe- riod in order to prevent the slightest intercourse between the returning troops and the townspeople in conse: quence of fears of mutinous demen- strations, as it was undeniable that the troops coming home were largely disaffected. The spirit of disaffection was ever more noticeable among the officers than among the men. The former frankly expressed the opinion that if parliament can hold its own until the spring it will be able to count on the army to support its demands. OCEAN LINER ASHORE. Steamer Westernland Grounded Out: side Philadelphia, Philadelphia, June 1 .—The steam- ship Westernland, from Liverpool for Philadelphia, is aground on South shoal, at the entrance to Delaware bay. The pilot boat Philadelphia has 4 line to the big vessel and is endeav: oring to fioat it. The Westernland has sgveral hun dred passengers on board. The vesse! is lying about four miles off Cape May and is in an easy position. There is scarcely any wind and the sea is smooth. Lifesavers have gone out to the vessel. Score of Persons Injured. New York, June 1. -Twe electric cars of the Union railway were in a headon collision at Yonkers and Jer- ome avenues.
