General Ordinance. ¢ * Chapter 12. Peddlers «nd Auctioneers’ Licenses. General Ocdinances of the City of Bemidji. The City Council of the City of Bemidji does ordain: Section 1, It shail be unlaw- ful for any person, or persons, firm, co-partnership, or corpora- tion to practice or exercise . the vocation of a peddler, selling goods, wares or merchandise from house to house, or upen the streets or public grounds of the City of Bemidji, without first having obtained a license there- for, as hereinafter provided, pro- vided however that this section shall not apply to persons selling farm produce, or garden truck within said city. . Golden Seal root, for dustance, is said by the UNITED STATES DISPENSATORY, a stand- ard. authority, “to impart tone and in- creased power to the heart’s action.” Numerpus ;other leading authorities rep- resent Golden' Seal “as an unsurpassed tonic for the muscular system in general, and' as’ the heart is almost wholly com- osed of muscular tissue, it naturally .{ follows that it must be greatly strength- ened B{ this superb, general tonic. But probably’ the most lmBortant. ingredient of *“Golden’ Medical Discovery,” so far as its marvelous cures of valvular and other affections of the heart are con- cerned, is Stone root, or Collinsonia Can., Prof. ‘Wm. Paine, author of Paine’s Epitomy of Medicine, says of it: “T, not long since, had a patient who was 50 much oppressed with valvular disease of the heart that his friends were obliged to carry him up-stairs.” He, however, gradually recovered under the influence of Collinsonin (medicinal principle extracted from Stone root), and is now attending to his business. Heretofore physicians knew of no remedy for the removal of so_distressing and so dan- gerous a malady. With them it was all guess-work, and it fearfully warned the afflicted that death was near at hand. Col- linsonin unquestionably affords relief im such cases, and in most instances effects a cure.” Stone root is also recommended by Drs. Hale and Ellingwood, of Chicago, for valvular and other diseases of the heart. The latter says: “It is a heart tonic of direct and permanent influence.” * ®Golden Medical Discovery,” not only cures serious heart affections, but is a most efficient general tonic and invigor- ator, strengthening the stomach, invig- orating the liver, regulating the bowels and curing catarrhal affections in all parts of the system.
