Manitowoe, Wis., March 5.—A body identified as that of Edward J. Mor- gan, the Oshkosh lumberman who dis- appeared here Jan. 5, was taken from Lake Mickigan during the day. The fact that the clothing on the body is torn and disarranged aroused the suspicion that Morgan met with foul play. Morgan was thirty-three years old and came here Dec. 23. He was last heard of by his family through a tele- gram sent from this city on Dec. 24 saying he would be home.on Christ- mas. Roswell, N. M., March 5—Over 1,000,000 acres ot fine pasture land in/| the western part of the Panhandle and Just east of Portals, N. M., have been burned in a prairie fire that has been sweeping east and south for two days|. and is still beyond control, with a head fifteen miles wide under a stiff wind. J. P. White of the Yellow House ranch, one of the biggest stock raisers in the Southwest, states that the loss is already $1,000,000. Probably a! dozen big ranches have been robhed of their feed. Misappropriation Charged. Allegan, Mich.,, March 5.—Suit in chancery has been brought here against Henry A. Dibble, cashier of the Co-Operative Grange store, the charge being made in the bill that Dib- ble has misappropriated $20,000 of the store’s funds. Judge Padgham ‘has issued an injunction restraining Dibble from disposing of any of his property pending the hearing of the suit. By Capsizing of Rowhboat.
