Waiteman, now serving a sentence in Auburn (N. Y.) prison for forgery, against his sis- ter, Mrs. A. J. Gibbs, in the suit to be tried in federal court in this city Feb. 14 (o set aside a deed alleged to be fraudulent. = George F. Perkins, who held a judgment of $15,000 agamst ‘Whiteman, is plaintiff in the suit, and Clara J. Gibbs, Albert L. The suit involves the - title- to 4,000 “acres of ‘aluable' land in St. Louis county. _Reuben Whiteman, father of Alonzo and Clara Whiteman, was possessed of a large fortune at the time of his death at Danviile, N. Y., in 1888. It consisted of a paper mill worth $250, 000, real estate and personal property in New York land in this county. By the terms of his will Whiteman left his wealth o his son and daughter, with a life estate to his wife. it was provided that it went to the Whiteman. It is alleged that the sis- ter induced James Lindsey to marry her mother and thereby secured pos- session of the bulk of the fortune for herself and Alonzo. It is further al- leged by Alonzo J.
