Sprague, | Glara B, Heffron who died at Faribault as a result of the bursting of a blood vessel in his brain Sunday afternoon, were laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery this afternoon. Funeral services were held from the residence of his mother, Mrs. J. B. Sprague, at 2 o’clock, and a short service was also held at the grave. Rev. Thos, Broomfield of the First Baptist church officiated. Mr. Sprague was born at Menominee, Wis., in the year 1868, and was 43 years of age at the time of death. He was mar- ried to Miss Carrie Nerriam in 1885 and came to Bemidji with his family eight years ago. He was the first organizer and di- rector of a brass band in this city, conducted a photograph gallery here for a number of years, afterwards holding a posi- tion as assistant postmaster in the local postoftice. Mrs Sprague died five yearsago. Mr. Sprague was a short time after- wards taken with a scroke of paralysis, the cause being a tumor on the brain. He sought medical treatment at many of the most noted institutions 1n the United States, but received no benefit, death being the final result. He is survived by his mobher,‘ Mrs. J. B. Sprague, one brother, F. W. Sprague, and one sister, Mrs. Robert Clark, of Bemidji, two sons, Harold and James Sprague, aud one daughter, Miss Erma |Sprague. County Attorney E. E. McDon- ald returned to Bemidji last night from New Richmond, Wis., where he attended the funeral of) his mother, and lefv this after- noon for his homestead in Maple Ridge township.
