Representatives Have Already Been, in This City Looking Situation Over. That at least one, and possibly | two, tub and pail factories, will be erected in Bemidji in the near future is almost certain, and it is now safe to to state that one of the plants will be in (‘peratlon] here next summer. The Pioneer recently stated that there were rumors to the erect that a tub factory would be erected here soon, but dia not give the names of those who in- tend to install the plants. There are two rival concerns which now own and operate fac- tories in Minneapolis that have for some time considered Be- midji a favorable location® for an industry of this kind One of these is the Minneapolis Wooden Works company and the other is the McVoy Tub, Pail and Pack- age company. ! " The latter company has had representatives here '. several times looking over the ground, and much correspondence has passed between the company and certain lumber interests here. The Minneapolis Wooden Works company has also had re- presentatives viewing this sst- tion, and only did Mr. Bousfield manager of the company, visit this city. Just what Mr. Bous- field’s mission to Bemidji was could not be ascertained, but in view of the fact that it is known that his company contemplates the erection of a plant here, it is probable that his visit had some- thing to do with the proposed factory. Wellinformed men are of the| opinion that Bemidji is an ideal location for a plant of this kind, and that it could be operated at much lesser expense than in Minneapolis. “Ift is certain that the expense of operating a tab factory in this city would be small compared with the ex- pense of operation in Minne- apolis,’” said a well known lum- bermen today. ‘‘The tub factor- ies of the twin cities pay fancy prices for all the material they library, all of which will be ready for the patrouns of the library on Saturday. Last night while a large crowd i was awaiting the arrival of the north bound M. & I. passenger at the station in this city, a drunken woodsman suddenly pulled a reyolver and discharged it into the crowd. "The platform was packed with people and it is almost miraculous that no one was injured. The gun was taken away from the man and he was allowed to board the train. and the cost of freighting the use in operating their plants. Ifilogs a long distance would be a factory were located in Bemidji the raw material could be ob- tained at a price much less than that paid for the same material in the twin cities, for the reason that the factory would be located in the midst of the timber belt eliminated.” The location of factories of this kind in Bemidji would be of] great benefit to the'city, and it is probable that every effort will be made to encourage the promot- ers. Some friends sent her two bottles of the wonderful Cooper Medi- cines thathave been so miraculously curing all kinds of rheuma- tism. It required but a few doses of Cooper’s New Discovery and two applications of Cooper’s Quick Relief to enable her to move her limbs and sit up in bed.
