1 | i | 2 CITIZENS ISSUE APPEAL FOR CITY ORGANIZATION Citizens Urged to Come Out and Vote 'ljuesday Septeniber 26 ---Some Seventy Five Business Men and Tax Payers Issue a Manifesto to the People of Bemidji. At the meeting of business'men and tax payers held Wednesday evening at Masonic hall it was re.’ golved that an open letter be sent to the people of Bemidji indorsing the proposed charter a,n_(l “Tging every citizen of the city to come out to the polls and cast his vote next Tuesday. The following is the letter which has been prepared in accordance with this resolution: 5 Bemiidji, Minn." September 23, 1905. Dear Sir:-- Your attention is earnestly called to the CHARTER ELECTION which takes place on Tuesday next. 1t is a matter of the most vital importgnce, and of interest to the welfare of Bemidji that every elector bear this in mind and cast his vote on that day. The sentiment of our population is overwhelmingly in favor of ity organization. The charter has been carefwlly prepared and meets with the favor of everyone who has taken the pains to examine it. It is therefor highly essential that every voter in this town who is in favor of good Sovern- ment and in favor of a seu)era,g’e system and such other advancement in owr conditions as is necessary to keep pace with the srowth of owr town should charge his mind with the date of the coming eloction, TUESDAY, SEPTEM- BER 26. If the charteris d,éfeuted, and, owr progress is retarded as @ con- sequence, the blame will rest wpon the indifferent voter—the man who favors it, bt who fmm inadvertance ov forgetfulness fails to cast his vote. After a careful examination of the proposed charter we give it as owr opinion that the best interests of Bemidji will be subserved by its adop- tion and we believe that the progress of our city demands city ordanization at the earliest possible moment. Thiis appeal is issued in accordance with a resolution wnanimows- Thoughts Turn to the New Thingsk Of all the handsome new ready-to-wear garments for fall and winter we direct your at- tention to the following mentioned line. \ The styles are correct injevery detail.
