IT 1S SOMETHING of consider- berlain, managing editor of the Minneapolis Journal, isaccom- plishing in his trip to the Scandi- navian peninsula, So many of the people of Norway and Swead- en have come to the northwest, that the affairs of these two LAl countries are of peculiar interest i"‘ | even to those of us who are not ifi ! of Scandinavian descent, though if we will but go far enough back JQN | there are few of us that are not M qescended from the Norsemen. Mr. Chamberlain in his special articles to the Journal is giving us a clearer insight info the character of the peoples of Norway and Sweden, their politi- cal conditions, their industrial environments and their hopes and ambitions as kindred nations than we have thus far been able to obtain. This is a matter of great importance to the Scandi- navians of the nerthwest, many of whom were born in this country and really have buta faint appreciation of the cond}- tions which confront their kins- men in the old country. It is * [important, too, to the rest of us who live in a section to which Scandinavians have so largely flocked and where so many thous- ands of them have made their homes and become American citizens beside us. The ideaof the Journal was an enterpriging one and its accomplishments is being made a brilliant success. The Dog Fight's the Thing.
