ELSEWHERE in this issue wi be found a census blank which not yet been approached by the census enumerator should fillout and send to Mayor Henderson or hand to any policeman. 2 The work of the ‘enumerator for Bemidjiis practically finished |and the total figures are not what Bemidji is justly entitled to have. It is inevitable that the enumera- tor should miss some and every one is needed. The census of Bemidji this month is what‘Be- midji will be judged by in the outside world and it is of the highest importance that the population as given in the census figures should approach just as nearly as possible to the actual population. It must be remem- bered that while Nymore is prac- tically a part of Bemidji, it is really a separate municipality and will so appear in the census figures thus shutting Bemidji out of close to 500 people that really belong to the city. It therefore becomes all the more necessary that every soul liying within the coroporate limits of Bemidji should be counted. If you know anyone who has not been counted get them to fill out one of these blanks and file it as directed. If you have not been counted yourself, fill out the blank at once and turn it in. Every name is needed. THE alarm of the twin cities that Duluth will get to Interna- tional Falls first and the hustling Jobbers of the head of the-lakes will establish themselves dlong the boundar’y line before Minne apolis and St. Paul get a chance to cultivate this great northern territory is not without founda- tion. If the twin cities are anxi- ous to secure the trade of the boundary line territory they have need, as their newspapers warn them, to secure the extension of the Minnesota & International railway to International Falls at the eariest possible moment and the sooner they get a road into Roseau and into Beaudette the }safer they will be. THE decision of State Auditor Iverson .to offer for sale about five hundred thousand acres of state lands this fall will be hailed |* with satisfaction by the people porthern Minnesota. Heretofore not more than one hundred thousand acres have been offered at one time. The lands to be offered are all in the northern part of the state and if properly advertised by the state immigra- tion bureau the sale should result m bringing a large number of new settlers to this section of the state.
