THE meeting of the state drain- age commission which isto ‘be held in Bemidji June 10 should |- be made an important one for northern Minnesota. The com. mission consists of Governor Johnson, State Auditor Iverson and Secretary of State Hanson. Engineers Ralphand Abererom- bie will also be present. > The purpose of the meeting is to confer with representatives of the northern counties as to the & d'rainage work most needed and as to the proper method of ex- pending the $60,000 which has been appropriated for drainage of the ensuing two years. To make this meeting a success it is absolutely essential that all the northern counties send repre- sentatives and this will not be done urless some central body makes an effort to secure such represeutation. An appeal from the Business Men’s club of Be- midji would undoubtedly do much toward making the conference a success, If this isto be done the club must meet and take act- ion at once. We believe that it will be easy to secure a representative or re- presentatives from almost every northern Minnesota county -if action is taken at once. A meet- ing of such a representative char- acter would help very materially towards the solution of the drain- age problem in northern Minne- sota. Whooping Cough. “In the spring of 1901 my children had whooping cough,”’ says Mrs. D, W. Capps, of Capps, Ala. “I wused Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy with the most satisfactory results. I think this is the best remedy I haye ever seen for whooping cough.” This remedy keeps the couch loose, lessens the severity and fre- quency of the coughing spells and counteracts any tendency toward pneumonia.
