Jewett, manager of the Blackduck telephone exchange and electric light plant, passed through the city last night en- route to Blackduck from Grand Rapids, where he has spent sev- eral days on business, Atta, the twelve year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Bullock of Shevln, died yester- day aiter a long illness of typhoid fever. The remains will be in- terred in the Moose cemetary. The date for burial has not been fixed as yet. . The Hurly Burly Club, a new north end organization, gathered in force and surprised Mr. and Mrs. William McCuaig last even- ing. A delightful evening was spent the principal form of en- tertainment being vocal and in- strumental music. Some twenty four ladies were entertained yesterday afternoon by Mrs. P. J. T. J. Nary, superintendent of the logging business of the Pills bury company, left last night for farley, where he will look over the company’s affairs relative to the camps now being operated near that village. Mr. Nary con- templates the closing down of all the camps now in operation. Mrs. Estella Huber died Tues day at her home in the town of Liberty 28 miles northwest of|- the city.
