No. The Chiropractic and the Osteopath both aim to put in place that which is out of place, to right that which is wrong; but the Path- ology Diagnosis, Prognosis and Movements are entirely different. Ong of my patients, Mr. W. A. Casler, has taken both Chiropractic and Osteopoth treatments. The Chiropractic is ten times more direct in the adjustments and the results getting health ten times more thor- ough in one tenth of the time than an Osteopath would. - i 3 e e o P i Bl 50 2 B o i 3 . News reports from the bed side of Dr. Harper, head of the University at Chicago, declare that he will concentrate every power of his mind in the effort to assist the X-ray treatment to which heis tobe subjected in the hope that this principle of Christian Science may be proyed true upon his own Body and that he maybe cured of a disease which secular science declares to be incurable. . : Dr. Herper’s case will be watched by thousands with in- terest. That he will be able to prolong “ life by means of his heroic mental {reatment cannot be doubted, for it isa factac- knowiedged on all -sides, that whether the mind can cure the body or not, despondency hastens disease while resolute will power often retards it. It cannot be said, whatever the issue, that Dr. Harper’s case will establish the truth of untruth of the cliim of the Christian Scien- tist, but it will be one step on the way to truth. Few Mourners. THE attempt to remove the university and the normal schools from the authority of the board of control has been again defeat- ed. Saddled with amendments freeig the Faribault and Owa- tonna schools from the authority of the board of control, the bill to release the purely educational institutions was decisively beat- en. : There are few mourhe;‘s. Itis pretty generally agreed that the university and the normal schools would be better off if not subject to the control of a board whose chief duties are utterly foreign to the conditions which obtain at the institutions. - At the same time it iS better that the purely educational institutions should remain where the& are than that the board of control act be placed Some day, when the board of control idea is established be- yond the possibility of overthrow- ing, the university and the 'nor- mal schools will win their release. For the present they will hayé to malke the best of a situation for which they themselves and no one else are responsible. Dr. OsLER thinks that men and those over 60 are absolutely: useless.
