No. The Chiropractic and the Osteopath both aim to put in place that which is out of place, to right that which is wrong; but the Path- ology Diagnosis, Prognosis and Movements are entirely different. One of my patients, Mr. W. A. Casler, has taken both Chiropractic and Osteopoth treatments. The Chiropractic is ten times more direct’ in the adjustments and the results getting health ten times more thor- ough in one tenth of the time than an Osteopath would: mm“*tmm“j PUBLISHED EVERY AFTERNO! PIONEER PUBLISHING ‘By R. W. HITCHCOCK. K assecond rlass matter. 0%ticial Paper Village of Bemidiji What Was All the Fus< ' About? A certain standard periodicalin its review of current eventsina recent number says that the diso- lution of the Northern Securities company has in no way injured the railroads affected which have continued to do business under This is a fact, of course, which everybody knows. The Great Northern and the Northern Pa- cific are under one management today, as they were during the legal existence of the Northern Securities company and as they practically were for several years prior to the organization of that company. This being so, what is all the fuss about the meger busting | Has any merger been busted? The Northern Securities company has been dissolved, it is true, and the merger roads can not be operated under the particular form of or- ganization. But the merger is just as much a factas ever. All this agitation about merger busting, not a syllable of which is fact, has its use simply in the fact that it has roused the people of the nation to look into the mat- ter of transportation. As long as the stockholders tind it profitable the Great Northern and the Nor- thern Pacific will be for all practi cal purposes one railroad, all. the merger busters on earth to the contrary notwithstanding. The merger is an evolution and we might just as well try trying to killitand spend our energies finding the right way to govern it and malke it of use to the peo- ple as well as to its owners. Good Road Association. The eleventh annual conven- tion of the Minnesota Good Roads Association will be held in the Senate Chamber at the old Capi- tal building at St. Paul Tuesday, January 24. We in northern Minnesota are beginning to realize that the matter of good roads is second in importance only to drainage These two things the north coun try needs above all others and the prospects for securing legis- lation long needed for each is now brighter than ever before. The meéting of the state associa tion is opportune, for a bill is now pending in the legislature applying the same principle to the matter of good roads as has already been applied to drainage It is sought to create a state highway commission to take im- mediate charge of the construc- ion of highway here most urgent- ly nceded and in order that the state convention may have more weight in its recommendations to the legislature it is desirable that as many friends of good roads as possible attend the con- vention January 24. With good roads and proper drainage northern Minnesota will get settlers just as it can take care of them, and upon these two things depend the immediate development of this section of the state. i CONGRESSMAN HEPBURN’S con- stituents thought they were electing him 'to expedite public business, not “to delay it.
