No. The Chiropractic and the Osteopath both aim to put in place that which is out of place, to right that which is wrong; but the Path- ology Diagnosis, Prognosis and Movements are entirely different. One of my patients, Mr. W. A. Casler, has taken both Chiropractic and Osteopoth treatments. The Chiropractic is ten times more direct in the adjustments and the results getting health ten times more thor- ough in one tenth of the time than an Osteopath would. T SO ..Tremont Hotel.. JOE ST. HITCHCOCK. Tntered in the pos 3 second class matter. Official County and City Paper SUBSCRIPTION $5 PER YEAR The Course of Business. It is patent to everybody that during the pasteighteen months business conditions in Bemidji have been undergoing somewhat of a change. Business condi- tions during that period have not been what they were before its beginning. This may be parti- ally accounted for because of the fact that the entire country has been convulsed with politics during that time, but the change is a far more profound one. It involves the character of the business which is being done in this city and to a great extent in the county and throughout northern Minnesota. = There is more business in Be- midji today than ever before, but it is not the kind of business that flowed through the town two years ago. The saloons are not doing so well today as they did two years ago, but the mercantile houses are doing much better, It is a fact that every merchant who has established himself in Bemidji and who is vigorously pushing his business is doing more today than ever before and that every month of the past twelve have beea with him better than the preceeding twelve months, Competition is more keen in Bemidji than. it was two years ago. There is more business to be had but it does not come at every beck and call; it must be worked for persistently. It is the business of the farmer and the permanent resident and not so much of the transient. Itis the business that comes to every town when it becomes firmly fixed. Businessis more stable in Be- midji today than it was two years ago. So, Bossy. Bossy did far better than so, so in Minnesota last year. ‘We have grown so accustomed to think of Minnesota as the bread and butter state of the Union that we regard the matter as definitely settled foreverand pay hut little attention to it any further, yetit isa stupendous fact that the Minnesota cow the past year has added $20,000,000 to the wealth of the state, irre- sbective of the value of the cow for beef. The dairy products of the state alone amounted to over twenty million last year and when we remember that Minne- sota turned out $20,000,000 worth of the best cheese and butter in the world, we haye reason to be proud and to take it for granted that there are none to dispute the state’s claim to the title of the bread and butter state of the Union. s The dairymen’s state conven- tion is just concluding its annual meeting and at that meeting it was brought out that under pres- ent conditions every farmer ought to be keeping twice as many cows.as heis. And then we have made but a beginning. It will be but a few years when the annual dairy products of Minnsotae will be worth a round hundred million, THE Red Wing Republican Z thinks that the Iowa boy who sees things up side down and wrong side to ought to make a hit as political writer on the Min- neapolis Journal, HENNEPIN county has estab- lished a plant where ready A.T.Wheelock, = =« =« = W.Presid H.LeBlew, =+ =~ . . At the rise of the curtain in the second act of “The Man Sweden”’ which will be seen at the City Opera house Monday, Dec. 19, Howard Brandon, the star, is discovered doing his washing in the good old fashioned style. While playing in Philadelphia re- cently, unbeknown to Brandon, who had just finished rubbing his last garment and was about to proceed with his lines. each member of the company came on the stage carrying a bundle of washing, und gently placed them along side of the tub and quietly walked off the stage. The audi- ence saw the joke in a minute and between them and the company, there was no end of laughter, while poor Brandon looked lost finally saying: “Have I come down to this?”’ Rector of St. Luke’s.—Ashburn- ham, Ontario, Testifies to the Good Qualities of Chamber- lain’s Cough Remedy. Ashburnham, Ont., April 18, 1908.—I think it is only right that I should tell you what a won- derful effect Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy has produced. The day before Easter I was so distressed with a cold and cough that I did not think to be able to take any duties the next day, as my voice was almost choked by the cough. The same day I re- ceived an order from you for a bottle of your Cough Remedy. I at once procured a sample bot- tle and took about three doses of the medicine. To my great relief the cough and cold had completely disappeared and I was able to preach threetimes on Easter Day. I know that this rapid and ef- fective cure was due to your Cough Remedy. I make this tes- timonial without solicitation, be- ing thankful to have found such a Godsent remedy. Respectfully yours, E. A, Langfeldt, M. A, Rector of St. Luke’s Church.
