No. The Chiropractic and the Osteopath both aim to put in place that which is out of place, to right that which is wrong; but the Path- ology Diagnosis, Prognosis and Movements are entirely different, One of my patients, Mr. W. A. Casler, has taken both Chiropractic and Osteopoth treatments. The Chiropractic is ten times more direct in the adjustments and the results getting health ten times more thor- ough in one tenth of the time than an Osteopath would. iThe Daily Pioneer PUBLISHED EVERY AFTERNOON. PIONEER PUBLISHING CO. By R. W. HITCHCOCK, Pntered in the postoffice at Bemidji, Minn., -8 second class matter. Official County and City Paper SUBSCRIPTION $5 PER YEAR The State Militia. The inspector of the national guard of Minnesota, Col. William Gerlich, has made a report in which he says that the efficiency of the guard is sadly impaired by reason of the fact that many of the companies are located in small towns and small towns do not provide suitable barracks and drill halls. The inference from the lengthy criticism of the in- spector is that it would be better for Minnesota te confine its na- tional guard to the large cities. | What do we want a state militia for anyhow? So that we can turn out a lot of finely uniformed and finely drilled men for dress par- ade? We presume that the in- spector’s criticism as to inade- quate facilities for drill ete. in small towns is true, but itisa good deal better to encourage and cultivate the loyalty of the people of the small towns of the state by giving them a company of militia to care for -than to have a few companies in the big cities only even though they are cor- rectly spic and span when the drill inspector comes around. Give us all a company of militia. We may not furnish them with a grand hall for drill but when we send them to the front, they will fight alright HENNEPIN county says that it is entitied to the senatorship. A county that gives a democratic majority of 8000 certainly de- serves anything that the repub- lican pary has got. = IF SENATORS were elected on paper the Twin City papers would have the matter taken en- tirely out of the hands of the people. By THE time Mrs. Maybrick is done with her serial Mrs. Chadwick will be ready with hers. MR. LAWSON of Boston is cer- tainly awesome. BITSINORTH b EROM | COUNTRY 4 THE L&mmu Did anybody rashly accuse Old Winter of second childhood? —0— The wonder is how the Thirteen Towns can get so many ads and so much news in one small paper. —0— We would like to see the coun- try of balmy breezes that can bring out as bracing a day as this. —0— The Crookston Public Library is $800 behind and because they quarrel so much Carnegie is $13,000 ahead. —0— Brother Boen is writing social- ism clear across the Fergus Falls Globe just as though election were tomorrow. —0— Now and then Wadena can do something besides politics and the Wadena Cracker company will rebuild on the spot. —o0— The ungallant Brainerd Dis- patch thinks Brother Verity rarely endowed with courage to calmly invite more troubles. —_—— Plug up your knot holes. A Brainerd girl caught her heel in one and now she wants the Great Northern to pay her $11,500. “ Pillsbury’s Best ” the world over. W. G. SCHROEDER Sets the Pace for Flour Excellence Sol Smith Russell. It wasa fine production and all that was promised for it and more too. The story of the comedy drama by Chas. Newton, is a pretty one and gives an opportunity for many fine situations. Brandon never loses his character of an ‘honest, bright, brave, diffident Swede. His dialect is never overdrawn it is just natural. He acts to perfection one of those nobje characters who are love- able at all times, which, however, is not difficult, because if reports are true, he is that in private life. Much praise is due Master George, ‘Little Jim” Carl’s friend. Heisavery bright lad and a natural actor. The sup- porting company was creditable. The interest of the audience never flagged and by ripples of laughter and applause they con- tinually let it be known, It was one of those productions in which the audience was in sympathy, when the hero did a good brave act, their approval could not only be felt but heard. Those who have in times past almost cried and then laughed over “A Poor Relation’ must of had the same enjoyment last evening. The company will be seen at the City Opera house Monday Dec. 19. Rector of St. Luke’s.—Ashburn- ham, Ontario, Testifies to the Good Qualities of Chamber- lain’s Cough Remedy. Ashburnham, Ont., April 18, 1903.—I think it is only right that I should tell you what a won- derful effect Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy has produced. The day before Easter I was. so distressed with a cold and cough that I did not think to be able to take any duties the next day, as my voice was almost choked by the cough. The same day I re- ceived an order from you for a bottle of your Cough Remedy. I at once procured a sample bot- tleand took about three doses of the medicine. To my great relief the cough and cold had completely disappeared and I was able to preach threetimes on Easter Day. I know that this rapid and ef- fective cure was due to your Cough Remedy. I make this tes- timonial without solicitation, be- ing thankful to have found such a Godsent remedy. Respectfully yours, E. A. Langfeldt, M. A., Rector of St. Luke’s Church.
