The sort of argument with which the democrats of the state are trying to capture republican votes should be warning enough to republicans of the fact that a desperate attempt is being made to make a catspaw of them in this campaign. The demo¢rat who wants a re- publican vote for Mr. Johnson, never has anything good to say for Mr. Johnson—simply some- thing bad to say for Mr. Challenge the democrat for the proof of what he has bad to say about Mr. Dunn and he will an- swer as does John Lind—that he has no proof. Dunn. There is not an honest demo- cratin the state who will not frankly admit that Mr. Dunn is more fit to be governor of the state than any other liviag man. ‘Witness the interview published in yesterday’s Pioneer with Mr. C. W. Hastings, president of the First National Bank of this city, and the testimony of hun- dreds of other democrats, includ- ing John Lind and-John A.
