One of the striking facts of the present state campaign is that all the opposition to Robert C. Dunn for governor is confined to the big corporations and mon- ied interests of the state and to those of the plain people who do not know Mr. Dunn. To know the man is to vote for him and the following statement by a prominent democrat, -cited i)y lustration of this fact. The Dispatch says: Over in Mille Lacs county where R. C. Dunn lives he is ex- pected to poll practically the solid vote regardless of politics, and the old saying that ‘“when a man is well thought of at home he is entitled to respect abroad” is true. E. E. I have al- ways been in opposition to the republican party in this county and have come in contact with Bob Dunn as an opponent, but I want to say that I know he is not the kind of man that Examiner being lis Journal are trying to make him out to be. Mr. Dunn is recognized by the democrats of this county as a man of courage and integrity, and his adminis- tration of the affairs of the office of state auditor is about the only thing that is meritorious about the past republican state administration. I want to say too that 1 don’t know of a demo- crat in Milaca that will not vote for Bob Dunn for governor,” The Steward Should Give An Account of His Stewardship. The democratic candidate for governor has for two terms, a senatorial term being four years, been a member of the Minnesota state senate. For three weeks past he has been face to face with a challenge to point out one single thing that he has done for Minnesota in that time. He has not opened his head to reply. Votes are being solicited from republicans and democrats today for Mr. Johnson as against Mr. Dunn on the ground that the democratie candidate is better qualified to fill the office for gov- ernor. dare not, meet this challenge, what utter folly for any man, demo- crat or republican, to vote for him! If he cannot, or IT 18 pretty hard to arouse en- thusiasm in regard to national issues in Minnesota this fall. The people of the state have de- termined whether they are going to vote for Roosevelt or Parker— and there are very few that have determined to do the latter. President Roosevelt will receive the largest majority ever given to any man in Minnesota. THE democratic nomineecheer- fully acknowledges that he is op- posed to the board of control, to state drainage and to extending assistance to the veteran. We have tol them if they did not receive any special benefit after the use of one 75-cent size bottle of German Syrup, to consult their doctor. qWe did not ask them or urge them to use a large number of bottles, as is the case in the advertising of many other remedies. Our confidence in Ger- man Syrup makes it possible for us to give such advice, We know by the ex- perience of over 35 years that one 75-cent bottle of German Syrup will s%eedxly re- lieve or cure the worst coughs, colds, bronchial or lung troubles—and that, evenin bad cases of consumption, one large bottle of German Syrup will ‘work wonders.
