Av., Chicago |II. iy s Wm. Kirmse, a member of the |; bridge gang working near Little- | POLITICS J. J. Regan has made perhaps the most exhaustive canvass of the county in his campaign for county superintendent of schools that has been made thus far. There are few people in the county that Mr. Regan has not seen and there are very few sec- tions in which he has not secnred carnest support. Mr. Regan is office, having taught in rural and village schools for many years and being one of the pioneer teachers of Beltrami county. He is an energetic, capable man and if nominated and elected would give the office of superintendent of schools a vigorous adminstra- tion. Mr. Regan is from the western part of the county which has little representation among the county officers. JohnGibbons has just returned from a short campaign tour and is much pleased with the encour- agement his candidacy for county attorney is receiving. Mr. Gib- bons does not believe that he will receive all the votes but is confi- dent that his support is suffi- ciently strong to insure him the nomination. J. M. Richards: Cities the recent storm, avenue side of Donaldson’s Glass “The Twin are littered with traces of The Nicollet | Block a wreck almost every window being broken. FEvery one’of the hundreds of bill boards on the trolley route between St. Paul and Minneapolis was swept away and I understand that ordinances have been passed by both cities forbidding their re- erection.” Chas. Swedback: I think that the vote at the primaries this fall will be in the neighbor- hood of 1,500. No more men will be away in the wheat fields than two years ago while the popula- tion of the county has been con- siderably increased. The vote two years wm]mut Clearwater county was 1,410.7 E. A. Schneider: “We are a preliminary survey of an ex- tension of the Red Lake Trauns- portation company road from Nebish to Bemidji. If contri butions of this kind bring results only once in a while we shall all be richly repaid.” E. H.
