A meeting of the school boarl lowed, the bond of the treasurer, Porter Nye, in the sum of $40,000 | George Smith appointed in his stead at per month. At a previous meeting of the board it was decided to cut the salaries of the officers of the board. The only salaried mem- bers of the board are the secre- tary and the treasurer. For some months past the former has been paid at the rate of $150 per year while the treasurer last year re- collected amounting to between 5400 and §500. The salary of the rk for the cusueing year was setat $100 and that of the trea- surer at 5. It was decided howevyer tn require the treasurer to furnish a guarantee bond in the sum of $40,000. A rumor has beefl in circula- tion throughout the day to the effect that the county authorit- ies had received more evidence relating to .the Dahl mystery. When approached this morning Couny Attorney Loud said that he did not know of the fact, ‘al- though he said he was not posi- tive as to whether or not Fourn- ier and Caldwell, the two sus- pects now held at the county jail, would be bound over to the grand jury or not. This is con- sidered significant, as heretofore Mr. Loud has stated that they had no evidence whatever upon which to hold the men, and even stated that there would be a preliminary hearing, but that the suspects would be released.
