The clairvoyant, it is charged, induced his aged victim to put the money in an envelope to wear over his heart and then made the shift of envelopes. ARMENIANS KILL TURKS, Hundred Soldiers Slain by Insurgents. London, Aug. 11.—The Tabriz, Per- sla, correspondent of the Daily News, in a dispaich dated Aug. 6, says: “On July 13 a band of Armenian revolutionists appeared near Outch- kilissa. Turkish soldiers and Kurds, finding an excuse, attacked and de- stroyed the villages of Outchkilissa, Koomlouboujak, Gougan, Karabazar and Sayto, butchering men and out- raging women. “Two large Armenian bands march- ing to Sassun to help the insurgent leader Antranik attacked the garrisons at Mossunzory and Goutchagh for re- venge on July 25. At dawn bombs were thrown into these places, killing many and severe fighting ensued, A majority of the soldiers were killed and the garrisons resembled grave- yards. One band forced its way through the Kurdish tribes toward Arjess. Chicago, Aug. 11.—While there will be no general Wpstern Democratic headquarters estuashed in Chicago, it was stated Tuesday that National Chairman Thomas Taggart would be in Chicago the latter part of the week for the purpose of locating two important literary bureau headquarters, both of Wwhich are to be located here. They are to be the German and railway bureaus, the special mission of which is to reclaim for the Democrats the gold vote which went to the Republi- cans four years ago. The Death Penalty. Pomeroy, O., Aug. 11.—Rey. Glenn Gillilan was accidentally and fatally shot by Rev. Newsome. The two min- isters were spending their vacation with the father of Rev. Gillilan in this county. The tragedy occurred while they were shooting at a target. Chandler for Governor. Dover, Del, Aug. 11.—Dr. Joseph H. Chandler was nominated for gov- ernor of Delaware by the “regular” Republican convention here. He ac- cepted only on condition that he re- main on the ticket and not be with- drawn for an Addicks man.
