A. P. White and family have just returned from a visit tothe St. Louis Exposition.. Mr. and Mrs. White engaged rooms - at Inside Inn and had decided to stay four days. They found two days sufficient to satisfy their sight-seeing desires. Mr. White’s best impression of the fair is that it is a grand thing and well worth seeing if one has not seen a big show of the sort before, when it becomes tiresome. Theé Exposition attendance is falling far short of expectations and it is said to be in a fair way to be a financial disappointment. Desperate Conflict. Theattention of the Pioneer has been called to a very remark- able game of ball which was played at the Lake George grounds last Sunday afternoon between the north and south Lake George teams. The time consumed in play- ing was a trifle over four hours and everybody was glad when it was all over.
