The recent republican ¢ convention has created a deman! for an extension of the primary clection law and for various re- forms in the method of clecting delegates. The primary election _away with delegates and perhaps this is the only solu- tion of the question as to what is to be done to take away the abusive powers possessed by county and state central com- mittees. The way such committees may abuse their power was strikingly illustrated last week. Hennepin count,y com the state central commflncc were controlled by Collins supporters.
