Sam F. Fullerton; executive agent of the Minnesota game aund fish commission, was in charge of the car and accompanying him were Wm. Sprane, of Erie, Pa., and W. A. Hutchinson. of Corry, Pua., employes. of the commission-of that state. The Cass Lake game warden had used a net in the lakes here and secured a large lot of specimens of pike, pickerel,white fish, mull; and some-of the other yvarieties, It had been the inten: tion to secure sev: ATEC MUS- kallonge, there being many in the large lake here, but owing to the fact that the weather was exceed- ingly stormy during the past week, the water was in such a disturbed condition that it was almost- impossible to drag the long netin’ thedeep water where the ¢muskies’’ live; at least not rapidly enough to catch-and-hold the big “fellows, consequently none were secured, although sev- eral very large pickerel were se- cured. Many black and other varieties of bass could have been secured here, but' Mr, Fullerton had previously made arrange- ments to get these yarieties at Alexandria, and no effort was made here to get any. Those specimens secured. here - were very good, and will add consider- ably to the exhibit-being made by the state, at St. Louis. BIDS CONSIDERED The City Council Accepts Bid of « Fairbanks-Morse Co. For Pumping Apparatus. The city council had a regular meeting last’ night. A number of bills were allowed and the bids for the new pumping apparatus and pipes for the city well were .| considered.
