The Daily Pioneer mmfisnu EVERY AFTERNOON. PIONEER PUBLISHING ©0. By R. W. HITCHCOCK. Entered in the postoffice at Bemidji, Minn., as second class matter. Official County and City Paper SUBSCRIPTION $5 PER YEAR j104 APRIL 1904 THE attitude of the state bar association toward the primary “election law is peculiar to say the least. In declaring for the “nomination of judges by political convention rather than by a pri- ~ mary of the people the assgcia- tion condemns the primary law as unfit to be applied .in . the se- lection of those officials who - ghould belthe farthest removed from obligation to any individual or individuals whatever. If the primary law is not fit for the se- lection of the judges of the land it is not fit for-choosing any pub- lic official. Inasmuch as the state bar association gives no reason for its action’ the’ resolu- tion does not appear in a very favorable light. THE Pioneer prints more local news than any daily in Minnesota between Duluth and Crookston and north of St. Cloud. It buys and prints more news from the north central’ part of the state than any other paper in the state, It is the aim of;)the Pioneer- to give the people of northern Min- he steady growth of the paper’s W ~ subscription list.
