Enright, who has a wood camp in the country a short dis- tance from Bemidji, went to Grand Forks this afternoon to visit with his family for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. James Severson expect to be able to leave for Superior about the first of next week. They will begin packing their millinery stock the latter part of this week. ; Edward ‘Tram, of Bertha, Minn:, arrived in the city today with a sawmill outfit which' he will put in and operdte at the Gadbout claim about three miles southeast of Bemidji. “The Midnight Expross” pleased one of -the largest audi- ences of the present season at the City opera house last Satur- day evening. The piece was capably rendered and is one of the most intense interest. The seenic effects were good and al- together it was an acceptable performance. It will be seen at the City opera house again. to night and should receive the most liberal patronage. ~ To Purify Whiskey Row. The board of health donned its working clotlies this afternoon and took a trip of -inspeetion around Third street and Minne- sota avenue lodging houses, known as Whiskey Row. All rooms that did not have a win- dow were ordered closed for lodging purposes, and a general cleaning up edict was issued, The board recommeded liberal applications of Lennox soap in several places, reprimanded sev- eral proprietors and gave that entire section of the city quite a shaking up. Goes to Nary. Lang & Carter will this week commence work on their broom handle factory at Nary. It was decided to accept the proposition made by the citizens of that vil- lage Saturpay nigat. The plant will be putin on a small scale but the Messrs. Lang & Carter | hope to make it a paying busi- ness which will bear consider- able enlarging. \Yill Ask Libby to Appoint.
