E. church is the singing of the choir. Under the leadership of Mr. Booth it is making commendable. progress. New anthem books have recently been received, The morning subject in the Baptist church will be “No For- giveness Without Repentance.” The eyening subject will be *‘Kiss- ing.”’ Services at 11 A. M.and 7.45 P. M. Sunday school at noon. Young People’s meeting 7 P. M. All welcome. The subject of Rev. Smith’s Sunday morning sermon at 11 o'clock will be “Revereuce, or Oné of the Lost Arts.”” Immedi- ately following the morning ser- vice there will be Sunday school. The Junior League will meet at 3 o’clock and -the Senior League at 6:45 o’clock. A homesteader who lives north of Kelliher saw the sight of a lifetime the other day when twyo deer pursued by a pack of wolves passed. through his clearing. The deer were chased out on a small lake and attempted a stand; but were comelled to take to their heels again. E. E. McDonald, the genial press agent for the village of Kelliher, vouches for the authenticity of this story and says that there were at least fifty wolves in the pack. Air ‘Tight Heater Scores Again. Shevlin Advocate: Theexplosion of an air tight heater caused the residence of Christ Larson to go up in smoke. Mr. Larson at the time was out in the woods chop- ping cordwood, and on returning at about 4 o’clock p.m. he found only the ashes left. Mr. Larson lost all he had in the way of cloth- ing, furnitureandalso$25in cash. The fire occured on wednsday. Received Sad News. Northome News: Commis- sioner Noble came down from Little Fork Sunday evening, driv- ing in the cold all night and pre- vious, day on the account of the in® telligence that his father at Belle Center, Ohio, was very ill, On ing for further news; and re- ceived the reply that his father was buried Jan. 21. MILWAUREE MEN ARRESTED. Accused of Obtaining County Orders Under False Pretenses. Milwaukee, Jan. 30.—Four super visors, Edward Strauss, Julius Feige, August Puls and Joseph J. Galewski, and Peter J. Meade, a private citizen, were arrested. last evening on. indict: ments returned by the grand jury Wednegday night. The supervisors are charged with obtaining county or- ders under false pretenses, and Mead with perjury. A sixth arrest was that of William Stoffel, a private citizen charged with perjury. .
